Hand and foot mouth disease is a mild but highly contagious viral infection that is common in young children, spreading from person to person due to unwashed hands or contaminated surfaces. Common symptoms include fever; sore throat; tongue, mouth, palm, feet and blisters on the back of the foot. Headache; fatigue; hypersensitivity; anorexia. Infections occur most commonly for coxsackie viruses and are commonly seen in child-rearing environments. Infected adults may not be showing symptoms and symptoms of this disease.

Hand and foot mouth disease Ayurveda treatment is intended to treat symptoms and prevent complications such as viral meningitis and encephalitis. Medicines such as Tribhuvan - Kirti, Laxmi - Narayan - Ras, Maha - Sudarshan - Churna etc are used to treat fever. Headache and sore throat can be treated using medication such as Sitopaladi-Churna, Talisadi-Churna, Triphala-Guggulu, Sukshma-Triphala. Fatigue can be treated with drugs such as Arjunarishta, Dashmoolarishta, Shrung-Bhasma, Laxmi-Vilas-Ras. Hypersensitivity can be treated using Sarpagandha (Rauwolfia serpentina), Jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi), Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri), Khurasani ova (Hyoscyamus niger) and Jayphal (Myristica fragrans). Anorexia can be treated with medicines such as Shankh-Vati, Laghu-Sutshekhar, Vishwa (Zinziber officinalis), Pippali (Piper longum) and Chitrak (Plumbago zeylanica).

Treatment of rash and blisters in the mouth and limbs using drugs such as Maha - Manjishthadi - Qadha, Saarivadi - Churna, Gandhak - Rasayan, Panch - Tikta - Ghrut - Guggulu, Yashtimadhuk (Glycerrhiza glabra), Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia) Hemidesmus indicus, Curcuma longa, Berberis aristata, Pterocarpus santalinus, Uchelle (Vetiveria zizanioidis), patrol (Tricosanthe dioica), dad (Cissampelos pareira) and Nimba (Azadirachta indica). These are more effective when combined with local applications including Manjishtha, Saariva, Haridra, Chandan (Santalum album) and Mandukparni (Centella asiatica). Other medicines such as Panch-Tikta-Ghrut, Yashtimadhuk-Ghrut, Shatadhout-Ghrut can also be used for local applications. Medicines such as Tapyadi-Loh, Ekang-Veer-Ras, Maha-Vat-Vidhwans-Ras and Bruhat-Vat-Chintamani can be used for the prevention and treatment of meningitis and encephalitis.

Most patients suffering from this condition usually recover after 7 to 10 days. It is important to maintain adequate oral rehydration of affected children. The prevention of this disease is just as important as the adoption of good hygiene measures and the temporary isolation of infected infectious people.
