Hypothyroidism is a common condition in which the thyroid gland produces insufficient thyroid hormone. It is most common for people over the age of 50, but it also affects people under the age of 50, such as the thyroid gland and children born without a dysfunctional gland. Hypothyroidism increases cholesterol levels, increasing the chances of heart disease and diabetes.

Long-term thyroiditis or Hashimoto's disease is often the cause of hypothyroidism. Because it is a place where the body's natural defense mechanism does not recognize the thyroid gland, it attacks like a heterogeneous element in the body.

Let's look at some of the causes of hypothyroidism:

Bad diet - Unhealthy diet such as sweet food and eating fatty foods can cause damage to the thyroid gland.

Viral or autoimmune plaque - this condition leads to hypothyroidism.

Congenital hypothyroidism - this is the cause seen among children. This is when a child is born without a thyroid gland or when there is a dysfunctional gland.

Radiation - Certain radiotherapy may damage the thyroid gland.

Surgery - surgical removal of the thyroid gland due to cancer in other conditions.

Dosing - Specific medications can cause hypothyroidism. Some drugs include lithium, iodide and nitroprusside.

Dysfunction of the pituitary gland - pituitary gland is rare but it can cause hypothyroidism.

Symptoms of hypothyroidism can be very widespread. Everything from lack of energy to overly dry skin problems.

The following is a list of common symptoms.

Treatment for hypothyroidism:

Thyroid hormone drug. Levothyroxine is a component contained in the most reliable synthetic medicine for treatment. After starting treatment, we need to adjust the appropriate dosage level so that the appropriate dose is satisfied. If hypothyroidism is the result of Hashimoto's disease, life-long treatment by medication may be necessary.

Relief of natural remedies. There are very effective natural therapy options. Kelp, vitamin B complex, zinc, L-tyrosine, selenium, urinary bladder atrophy are common to all natural remedies. In the case of kelp, consumption of iodine rich in kelp is important.

Another important aspect of treatment is regular exercise and good, balanced, clean meal. As mentioned above, fat and sugar-rich foods are often the cause of this condition and need to be eliminated or significantly reduced as part of the treatment.
