
What is high blood pressure?
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure (HBP), is a serious medical condition. It happens when the blood force passing through your arm is too strong. When your heart beats, your blood will be pushed through the rest of your body through your arms. When the blood is pressed against the wall of the artery, the blood pressure rises. Your blood pressure may vary depending on the time of day. It is usually high when you first wake up, when you exercise, or when you are under stress.
